A team of runners from a cricket club in Derbyshire are taking part in a 10k run in memory of one of their former members.
The team from South Wingfield Cricket Club will be taking part in the 2024 Derby 10k which will take place on March 24.
A spokesman for the club said: “We are back, and ready to tackle the Derby 10K again.
“Between our team of runners, we will cover a distance of 100 miles. That’s some effort.
“This year the club have decided to raise funds in memory of Andrew Smithurst, a club member of around 40 years.
“The funds raised will be put towards a memorial at Holme Lane, to show our appreciation and gratitude to his time at the club over the many years as a member, player and groundsman.
“Additional fundraising efforts will be used to support the club’s ongoing developments.”
