Christopher Nieper OBE, Chair of Trustees, said: “It has been a pleasure to work with such a dedicated and hardworking group of governors and staff.

This nomination is a great testimony to the impact of this work which has seen David Nieper Academy go from strength to strength and to now be Ofsted Good and the sixth most oversubscribed secondary school in Derbyshire.”

Dr Kathryn Hobbs, CEO of Christopher Nieper Education Trust, added: “We are exceptionally proud to have been selected as finalists for this prestigious award.

I am immensely grateful to all our Governors who have given up so much time and energy to support, guide, advise and oversee the dramatic developments at David Nieper Academy since our opening in 2016.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us on our journey to this point. We are very excited for the future as we start to work much more closely with new schools joining the Trust.”

Trustees and staff from the academy attended the National Governance Association ‘s award ceremony at the House of Commons in London on September 28.
