Alfreton & District Heritage Trust have recently been awarded a grant of £9,960 by the National Lottery Community Fund to work in our community.
We’re hoping to bring together all generations, young and old, through our history via talks, crafting and Memories sessions, along with local school involvement.
Our programme will be mainly based at the Palmer Morewood Memorial Club on Hall Street, Alfreton (the Welfare for us older folk) but we are happy to visit any group around the area.
We can offer a variety of talks and it’s completely free!
We really do want to involve everyone in our community so if you belong to a group of you’d like to be involved, ring me, John Rayson, on 07925 360718 or pop into the Heritage Centre between 2pm and 4pm on a Sunday or 10am until 1.30pm on Wednesdays.
Our programme starts on Saturday, September 2, with a look at Alfreton at days gone by. It starts at 1pm and all are welcome. Come and share your memories of the town with us.
Sessions will then be every two weeks at the same time and venue. There will be a buffet provided and it’s free!
We are grateful for the support of the Palmer Morewood Memorial Club and staff in our efforts, so thank you from us all at the Heritage Trust.
Please come and join in our project, the award comes after numerous applications and a long wait.
Let’s work together and make Alfreton proud.
