An Alfreton in Bloom competition will celebrate the town’s allotments and gardens this summer.
Alfreton Town Council is organising the competition along with an Open Garden day, where residents will be invited to open up their gardens to the general public.
The competition is set to take place on July 22, and will feature four categories:
Prizes will be awarded for each category of the Alfreton in Bloom competition. First prize in each category will be £50, second prize will be £30 and the third prize winner will receive £10.
The Open Garden event will take place the following day, on July 23.
Both are free to enter. Participants must live in the Alfreton town area.
Application forms are available to collect from Alfreton Town Council’s offices at Alfreton House and to download here.
