Children at an Alfreton primary school have written a prayer showing their gratitude for Queen Elizabeth ll following her death last week.
The Queen died at Balmoral on Thursday (September 8) at the age of 96. She had been our monarch for 70 years.
Tributes to Her Majesty The Queen have been paid worldwide – and here in Alfreton, pupils at Christ The King Catholic Voluntary Academy wrote a prayer expressing their thanks for her.
The prayer, written by children in Year 1 at the Firs Avenue school, reads: “Dear God. We thank you for letting the Queen live so long.
“Thank you for keeping the Queen safe. Thank you for making the Queen so good at helping us. Amen.”
