Saturday afternoon (September 2) saw Alfreton put an end to their run of defeats in front of over 1,300 people as we came from behind twice against former Championship side Scunthorpe United.
Two goals from full backs Dwayne Wiley and Josh Clackstone meant Billy Heath’s mean started September with a solid point as we head to Banbury United tomorrow (Tuesday, September 5) and host Boston United on Saturday (September 9) afternoon.
Banbury United Tickets
We’ve been informed that tickets for our Tuesday night fixture MUST be purchased in advance. There will be NO ticket sales on the day and tickets go OFF sale at 5pm TOMORROW.
You can purchase your tickets here.
Injuries have plagued Billy Heath’s side in recent weeks. Long term injuries to Matt Rhead and Danny Preston means they won’t feature until at least 2024.
Ryan Taylor and Harry Perritt are still a few weeks from returning from their injuries with Taylor set to return sooner than Perritt.
Jordan Thewlis, Dwayne Wiley and Shaun Brisley will be assessed on Tuesday ahead of our trip to Banbury United to see if they will feature after picking up knocks on Saturday afternoon against Scunthorpe United.
Alfreton Town have made two new signings in the last couple of weeks.
Ben Starkie signed from step 3 side Basford United and made his debut against King’s Lynn. Coming off the bench in our 2-1 defeat in Norfolk on Bank Holiday Monday (August 28).
The second is Kwame Boating. The young left back signed at the end of last week and is yet to feature for the Reds. He could make his debut on Tuesday night when we visit Banbury United in Oxfordshire.
Alfreton have opened up player and pitch sponsorship for the 23/24 season with a number of packages to support the Reds even more.
