Police are urging residents to be vigilant regarding potential scam mail.
Derbyshire Constabulary has issued the warning about such scams via its Derbyshire Alert email system as well as via their social media.
A spokesman for Alfreton Police SNT said today (Wednesday, January 7): “A local resident approached us while we were out on patrol today, concerned about a letter they had received in the post.
“If you receive any mail or emails you are suspicious of, contact us on 101 or if you believe you have been a victim of fraud visit the Action Fraud website.”
