Derbyshire Historic Buildings Trust has unveiled before and after photos of two recently restored railway station benches.
The two long seats are currently in place at the recently refurbished Wingfield Station.
A spokesman for the trust said: “For all those that have enjoyed sitting on our beautiful Midland Railway benches at Wingfield, here’s a reminder of what they looked like when we first acquired them from the Midland Railway Centre – Butterley Station.
“Andrew from Fred’s Shed Antiques & Restorations spent hours restoring them from this almost irreparable state into two stunning items of furniture. He stripped them down to the bare frames, made them structurally safe and applied wood dye as well as giving them a French polish.
“S W Upholstery provided the faux leather, which has a great vintage look, in our chosen colour of jade.”
The spokesman continued: “It was great to work with two local businesses, who went over and above to achieve our vision, and to actually provide some really useful (and appropriate) seating inside the building.”
