Volunteers are needed to help offer breastfeeding support in Alfreton and Heanor.
B.E.A.R.S – which stands for breastfeeding experience, assistance and reassuring support – runs free fortnightly support sessions in both towns.
The group is looking for volunteers to help support the groups and has shared the following:
“It’s not too late to apply to be a breastfeeding peer supporter! The deadline is Thursday, September 7 at midnight.
“The ‘Helper’ Peer Supporter course is FREE for everyone who is successful in the application and is OCN accredited. It runs weekly from Friday, September 15 and you can have your little ones with you while you learn if you would like to.
“If you have a passion for supporting families to reach their breastfeeding goals and would like to be part of an amazing team, supporting over 1,500 families in Derbyshire every year, why not consider applying?
“Contact Derbyshire Breastfeeding Network via DM (@Breastfeeding Network Derbyshire) or email (derbyshire@breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk) if you have any questions or would like to hear more.”
