Students the David Nieper Academy in Alfreton have been visiting a building site to learn all about working in the construction industry.
Mrs Bradford at the academy said: “We recently took part in a trip to a building site with Year 11 students who have shown an interest in careers in the construction industry.
“We were invited by local businessman and Trustee Roger Carter, of Carter Construction, to a site in Chellaston, Derbyshire.
“While there, myself and the students had to be equipped with work boots, hard hats, and high-vis jackets.”
Mrs Bradford continued: “We went onto the site and walked through, looking at the different stages of building houses. From the beginning and the foundations to a fully built home just waiting to be plastered, we learned about the different trades and the career opportunities.
“We had a great time, and we are thankful to Mr Carter and his employees for giving up their time to show us around. We all found the visit really interesting and informative.”
