A group of campaigners who are dedicated to protecting Alfreton’s countryside from development will hold a community meeting this week.
Save Alfreton Countryside will host the meeting at Woodbridge Junior School on Friday (September 15) at 7.30pm.
The group successfully campaigned against a proposal to build a huge solar farm spanning 75 hectares on land at Hall Farm, off Church Street.
The proposal, submitted to and rejected by Amber Valley Borough Council, was eventually dismissed by a planning inspector in December last year.
Since then, Save Alfreton Countryside has continued to raise the profile of proposals to create other large developments in the area.
The aim of the community meeting is to provide an update on what has been happening over the summer and since the public inquiry into the solar farm application.
Everyone is welcome to join the meeting.
