The candidates for the new East Midlands Mayor elections have been announced.
Residents across Derbyshire, as well as across Nottinghamshire, are set to vote for their new East Midlands Mayor on Thursday, May 2.
A spokesman for the new authority said: “Mayoral elections for the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) will take place on Thursday, May 2.
“The official list of candidates for the first EMCCA mayoral election is now confirmed.
“The deadline for nominations passed at 4pm on April 5 and a total of six candidates will now seek to become the region’s first ever-mayor.”
The candidates are:
Frank Adlington-Stringer of Chesterfield – Green Party
Ben Bradley of Newark and Sherwood – The Conservative Party
Alan Graves of South Derbyshire – Reform UK
Matt Relf of Ashfield – Independent
Helen Louise Tamblyn-Saville of Bassetlaw – Liberal Democrat
Claire Margaret Ward of Newark and Sherwood – Labour and Co-operative Party
