A celebration at a town centre pub in Alfreton has raised lots of cash towards youth activities in the area.
The Bankers Tavern hosted a one year anniversary party on Sunday evening which included live music from Alfreton band Death Of The High Street and a large raffle with prizes which had been donated by lots of local businesses.
Funds raised from the evening have been donated to AYUP (Alfreton Youngsters Umbrella Provision) which is a volunteer run initiative which offers a multitude of weekly activities for youngsters in the town.
A spokesman for AYUP said today (Monday, March 25): “Alfreton supporting Alfreton – what a brilliant community we have.
“A great night celebrating The Bankers Tavern, Alfreton one year anniversary last night. Here’s to the next ten years.
“A big thanks to Simon and Lillie for hosting a raffle in support of AYUP, a special thank you to Lou for being the Queen of ticket sales and to everyone who came and helped raise much needed funds for AYUP!.”
They continued: “It looks like £400 was raised and The Bankers have also given a £100 donation.
“The money is so important, without everyone’s amazing generosity we won’t be able to keep the clubs running for the young people of our town.
“If you have any fundraising ideas, give us a shout and we’ll do all we can to help.”
A spokesman for The Bankers Tavern added: “A fantastic night had by all, thank you to everyone who made it the blinder it was.
“Death Of The High Street – you were exceptional as always.
It’s a pleasure to raise funds for AYUP, who will make sure our town’s youth get the support they deserve.”
