Energetic fundraisers have been taking to the roads and fields of Derbyshire to raise cash for youth activities in Alfreton.
The 2024 Higham Hill Race took place on Tuesday, April 2. Starting at 6.30pm, from The Greyhound at Higham, Main Road, Alfreton, it was a four mile, figure of eight loop, part road, part trail race.
Prize giving took place at the end of the race, which is part of the NDRC Club Challenge.
This year’s charity which is set to benefit from funds raised from the event is AYUP (Alfreton Youngsters Umbrella Provision) which is a volunteer run initiative that offers a multitude of weekly activities for youngsters in the Derbyshire town.
A spokesman for AYUP said: “A brilliant night at the Higham Hill Race 2024.
“Loads of raffle tickets sold, lots of amazing running in very muddy fields and a good amount of money raised. This is currently being totalled up but looking like somewhere in the region of £500.”
The spokesman continued: “A massive thank you to the race organiser Steve Monaghan for choosing to support AYUP and to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket or entered the race.
“The money will help to us keep the clubs running for the young people of Alfreton.”
