A community cinema has had to change its next screening from ‘Oppenheimer’ to ‘Wonka.’
The Somercotes Cineroom’s next screening will be on Saturday, March 9.
A spokesman for the community movie initiative said on Sunday (February 11): “Unfortunately we found out yesterday that we are unable to show ‘Oppenheimer’ on Saturday, March 9.
“The film studio responsible for Oppenheimer are not allowing people to license the film for public screenings between February 18 and April 11.
“Therefore, our runner-up in the audience vote was ‘Wonka’ and we will instead be showing ‘Wonka’ on Saturday, March 9, all timings will stay the same.”
The spokesman continued: “Anyone who has already bought tickets online should have received an email and Somercotes Village Hall will be in touch with those who have purchased tickets there.
“If you have already purchased a ticket you can swap it to Wonka or receive a refund.
“We are very sorry for any disappointment or inconvenience but this situation was out of our control. If you have any questions, please message us via our Facebook page.”
