A children’s charity is raising money to fund a live theatre performance for pupils at Alfreton Park Community Special School.
Happy Days Children’s Charity – a national charity providing activities for children with additional needs – wants to raise £958 for a live performance of The Jungle Book.
The charity is raising the money via a Just Giving page, which explains: “We are trying to give 113 children from Alfreton Park School a wonderful theatre experience with a performance of The Jungle Book.
“The theatre company will visit the children’s school and turn their assembly hall into a stage for the day, bringing magic and laughter to the pupils.”
Alfreton Park Community Special School is for pupils aged between two and 19 years old who have a range of learning disabilities.
Earlier in the year, Alfreton Park Community Special School gained access to its new £13.2m purpose-built facility.
The new school has 12 classrooms, six group rooms, including specialist therapy rooms and soft play areas, a combined hall and dining area, and space for up to 120 pupils.
