Students at the David Nieper Academy in Alfreton have been taking a trip to a city to carry out a recent geography class.
Miss Flynn at the academy said: “I recently led a trip for 58 of our Year 11 geography pupils who travelled to Nottingham to complete data collection for their human geography fieldwork project.
“The project aims to investigate differences in quality of life between two contrasting urban areas.
Pupils conducted quality-of-life questionnaires and environmental quality surveys in The Meadows and West Bridgford.”
Miss Flynn continued: “Back in the classroom, pupils collected secondary data, using the Census and the Index of Multiple Deprivation to investigate the level of deprivation in these areas.
“Pupils will be examined on their work in their upcoming GCSE exam.
“Despite the very cold weather, everyone was in high spirits and worked extremely well and in a very professional manner.
“Great job, Year 11 geographers.”
