A councillor vacancy has arisen at South Normanton Parish Council.
The council has issued a notice of vacancy in office of councillor for the parish of South Normanton (East Ward).
A spokesman for the council said: “Pursuant to Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 one casual vacancy has arisen in the office of councillor for South Normanton (East Ward) Parish Council due to the resignation of Aileen Coleman.
“If by April 17, 2024 (14 days excluding Dies Non, after the date of this notice) a request for an election to fill the said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer at the address by ten electors registered in the said parish ward, an election will be held to fill the vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.”
