The Alfreton Craft Fair will take place on Saturday 30th April 2022 at St Martin’s Church. This year it celebrates the 70th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II with a Platinum Jubilee creative theme.
Designed to bring Alfreton’s creative community together, visitors can learn knitting, quilt making and crochet. They can also buy crafts, design cards, and sculpt their own ornaments and other creative crafts and talents. There will be local cake designers and artists as well as musicians, and photographers showcasing their work, selling their products, and sharing their skills and tips.
Organiser of the event, Reverend Julian Penfold commented: “There’s an abundance of creativity within the community of Alfreton and we wanted to host something that would bring together all the creative types – and those with an interest in arts and crafts – in one place for an exciting day. It’s important that we nurture local talent and provide a platform for showcasing this work and skill-sharing”.
There will be light refreshments available and entertainment throughout the day. It is free for crafters, businesses, and members of the public to enter and takes place from 10am to 4pm at the St Martins Church, Church Street Alfreton.
Crafters are encouraged to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee with their creations, giving the people of Alfreton an opportunity to purchase unique memorabilia ahead of the national jubilee celebrations taking place the first week of June.
Local businesses will also take part with sponsorship including leading local fashion house David Nieper.
