Key dates have been confirmed for the 2024/25 Vanarama National League Season.
Here is the latest from Alfreton Town from the Alfreton Football Club’s website.
A club spokesman said: “Some key dates have been confirmed for the 2024/25 Vanarama National
League season.
“It might only be just over a month since the last campaign came to a close but we are now only 63 days away from the curtain raiser to do it all again – the new season gets underway on Saturday, August 10.
“Fixtures will be released a month before that – with fans getting their calendars plotted when schedules are released on Wednesday, July 10.”
The spokesman continued: “Festive fixtures will be on Saturday, December 21, with Boxing Day fixtures taking place as normal. Fixtures will be scheduled on New Year’s Day with clubs able to switch to New Year’s Eve if both clubs reach an agreement to do so.
“Historically, the Christmas and New Year schedules are reversed, in that the Boxing Day Fixtures are reversed with New Year Day fixture, therefore playing the same team in a close timeframe.
“After surveying all clubs, the National League Board agreed that the League will reverse next season’s Boxing Day fixtures with Good Friday and New Year with Easter Monday.
“Confirmation of key dates for the 2024/25 season: Fixture Release Day – Wednesday, July 10; Opening Day – Saturday, August 10; North/South Closing Day – Saturday, April 26; National Closing Day – Monday, May 5.”
