Residents across Derbyshire are being urged not to do business with any cold-callers.
The advice has been issued by Derbyshire Constabulary via their online Derbyshire Alert system.
A spokesman for the force said: “Derbyshire Trading Standards officers are issuing advice to Derbyshire residents about cold-callers after several reports in the Bolsover area.
“A number of people have reported a man cold-calling offering to etch identification details onto car windows.
“Derbyshire County Council’s Trading Standards team urges residents not to do business with anyone who cold-calls at the door and to instead use the Derbyshire Trusted Trader scheme if you are looking for a service.”
The spokesman added: “If you have any concerns about this matter you can call the Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline on 0808 2231133 or Derbyshire Police on 101.”
Meanwhile Derbyshire Police are urging residents to take part in a local community survey entitled ‘Derbyshire Talking.’
The force spokesman said: “Derbyshire Constabulary and The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner are carrying out a survey with local communities.
“This is important and we would like to hear your views. Your opinions will influence the community engagement and delivery of services within your area.
“We want to better understand what’s great and what’s not so great about where people live so we can work with residents to help tackle any worries and issues that you may have.”
