Nursery children have been enjoying dressing up as part of a national literature celebration.
The youngsters at Ashbourne Day Nurseries at Alfreton attended the setting dressed as their favourite book characters as part of the recent World Book Day.
A spokesman for the Grange Street nursery said: “We had a fun day celebrating World Book Day.
“Our children came dressed in their pyjamas or fancy dress outfits and shared their favourite story books with us.
“We also created our very own props for story telling and imaginative play. We asked our families to bring in an object from home to help make this happen.”
The spokesman continued: “A few examples of what was used: potato, wooden spoon, tin of baked beans and many other random objects, it was great fun.
“Our pre-school children have been showing interest in the story ‘The Three Little Pigs.’
“We created our own houses of straw, sticks and bricks. The children narrated their own story using the props, it is safe to say the wolf was never coming back!”
