A sponsored walk on Easter Sunday will raise money to support the Alfreton Big Summer Event.
Little is known about the Alfreton Big Summer Event at present – other than it will take place on July 8 and 9, and that it is being organised by Sisu Derbyshire and Alfreton Town Council.
However, plans for the event are starting to take shape and Alfreton Cricket Club is organising a sponsored walk to help raise money to support it.
The sponsored walk will take place on Easter Sunday – Sunday, April 9 – with all proceeds going towards the Alfreton Big Summer Event.
The walk will start at 10am at Alfreton Cricket Club. Participants can complete either a six mile or 10 mile walk depending on their preference.
It costs £5 per adult to join, children can take part for free. Sponsorship forms can be collected from Alfreton House Tea Rooms, located on Alfreton’s High Street.
There will also be an Easter Bonnet competition on the day. It will cost £1 to enter and there will be a prize for the winner.
