There will lots of colourful characters roaming around the streets of Alfreton this Saturday (November 25) for the town’s Christmas lights switch on event.
The Derbyshire town’s festive extravaganza will include a whole host of festive family fun taking place at a variety of venues.
There will be Yuletide events taking place at the Genesis Entertainment Centre (midday-5pm) and in Alfreton Indoor Market (8am-6pm), as well as in and around Alfreton House in High Street (2pm-6pm).
Alfreton’s very own ‘Fancy Entertainment’ company will be providing some of the colourful characters who will be at the Alfreton Town Council organised event including elves and stilt-walking fairies.
Annabel Ward, at Fancy Entertainment, told the Spirit of Alfreton: “We are a local company based in Alfreton supplying various performers and acts across the country.
“Next year we are celebrating our tenth year in business and no matter how much our business grows and travels, there’s always something special about coming to to our Alfreton roots.”

“We are really looking forward to attending our fourth light switch on in Alfreton.
