Event at Alfreton House to celebrate key workers and NHS staff

Alfreton Town Council is set to host an event celebrating the town’s key workers and NHS staff in July.

The finer details of the event are yet to be announced but it is set to take place in the grounds of Alfreton House on Monday, July 5, with entertainment between 11am and 3pm.

The event is being held as part of the first NHS, Social Care and Frontline Workers’ Day.

The nationwide event – set to be held on 73rd anniversary of the NHS – is set to be a day of thanks while also remembering those who lost their lives due to Covid-19.

Street parties and afternoon teas are being encouraged as part of the event – and here, Alfreton Town Council is inviting residents to organise their own over the weekend of July 3 and 4.

The council is also inviting residents to design and decorate a NHS poster to be displayed at Alfreton House and other buildings around the town.
