Free courses for adults are being offered by Derbyshire County Council in Alfreton.
The British Sign Language and Wellbeing courses are being offered by Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service at a variety of venues across the county including in Alfreton.
Course organiser Sarah MacLaurin said: “Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service are thrilled to be able to offer free Introduction to British Sign Language courses in various venues across the county. Book your place today.”
She further stated about the wellbeing courses: “Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service recognise the importance of health and wellbeing.
“We would like to offer free Brightside courses supporting mental health. Wellbeing for Women is the first in a series of courses to be offered and presents an opportunity for women to learn how to pamper themselves. Book your place now.”
During the Brightside Wellbeing for Women courses participants are set to: “learn new skills, look after your own wellbeing and that of your loved ones.”
A spokesman said: “Join our wellbeing course exclusively for women, suitable for beginners and those with some previous experience. Develop your massage skills and practice what you have learnt in a friendly, sociable environment.”
These courses are taking place at Alfreton Adult Education Centre, Church Street, Alfreton DE55 7BD from November 13 until December 18 between 10am and midday.

Meanwhile, An Introduction to British Sign Language (BSL) is also on offer for free.
These courses are set to allow participants to: “Be able to understand and use simple BSL phrases and exchange basic information in familiar situations using BSL from these five-week introductory courses.”
They are taking place at: Alfreton ACE – Tuesday, November 7 to Tuesday, December 5, between 10am and midday; as well as at Swadlincote ACE – Tuesday, November 7 to Tuesday, December 5, between 2pm and 4pm; Long Eaton ACE – Monday, November 6, to Monday, December 4 between 10am and midday; and at Cotmanhay People’s Centre – Wednesday, November 8, to Wednesday, December 6 between 10am and midday.
