The next General Election in the UK will be taking place on Thursday, July 4.
Residents across Alfreton and the rest of the country will be taking to the polls to vote for their next Member of Parliament for their area, and subsequently the country’s next Government.

Amber Valley Borough Council, the authority which runs elections within our area, are reminding residents that, if they are not yet registered to vote, then they have until June 18 to do so in time for the forthcoming General Election.
A spokesman for the council said: “Register to vote in UK elections if you’ve never registered before, have moved house or have changed your name.
“For the upcoming elections on 4 July, the deadline to register to vote is Tuesday 18 June 2024.
“Don’t miss out on your chance to vote, register online at https://www.gov.uk/registertovote.”
The list of candidates for this election in the Amber Valley constituency will be published after Friday (June 7).
