A heritage site in Derbyshire is set to be a part of national celebrations next year.
The Derbyshire Historic Buildings Trust, which looks after Wingfield Station near Alfreton, has been in talks about the site being a part of the 2025 celebrations surrounding the 200th anniversary of the birth of the modern railway.
Members of the trust recently met with Mike Lamport who is part of the Railway 200 steering group which will be leading the national celebrations.

A spokesman for the trust said on the day of the recent visit: “2025 is the 200th anniversary of the birth of the modern railway.
“Britain and the world changed forever. Railway 200 celebrates the past, present and future of rail.
“Today we welcomed Mike Lamport, a Railway 200 steering group member, to Wingfield to discuss how we might get involved with this once-in-a-generation opportunity to make history and be part of something special.
“Here’s Mike, John and Peter taking a closer look at the zigzag window as we walked round the exterior of the building in the rain this morning.
“Check out https://railway200.co.uk/get-involved/ for more information.”
