A community youth activities initiative has received a cash boost after a Derbyshire mum jumped from an airplane.
Shamin Clare recently took part in a skydive all in aid of raising money for AYUP (Alfreton Youngsters Umbrella Provision) which is a volunteer run initiative which offers a multitude of weekly activities for youngsters in the town.
A spokesman for AYUP said: “It’s fantastic to see people from Alfreton fundraising to help AYUP put on youth activities in Alfreton.
“Shamin Clare did a truly wonderful thing, jumping out of an actual aeroplane on a tandem skydive raising over £1,100 for AYUP.”
They continued: “A huge thank you to Sham for choosing AYUP to fundraise for, it’s really making a difference to our local kids.
“If you’ve got an idea for a challenge, goal, adventure or event to fundraise for AYUP, it doesn’t matter how big or small it is, you’ll be making a huge impact.”
