Snowfall caused disruption across the Alfreton area on Thursday, March 9, forcing some schools and businesses to close.
Among those to close were Alfreton Indoor Market closed, Tibshelf School, Frederick Gent School and Alfreton Park School.
A yellow weather warning for snow remains in place until 2pm tomorrow (Friday, March 10) and snowfall is expected to continue across the Alfreton area until mid-morning.
We will do our best to keep you updated of any disruption tomorrow due to the weather.
In the meantime, here is a selection of pictures that you have shared with us. If you would like to share your pictures of the snow with us, please send them to editor.spiritofalfreton@gmail.com or get in touch via our Facebook page.
Safety advice
The Met Office has issued some advice on how to stay safe in the snow. You can find it here.
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service has also shared advice on driving safely in the snow. You can find it here.
East Midlands Ambulance Service has advised people to only travel in the snow if necessary.
With more snow expected across the region throughout the day, only travel if you need to and download the free @what3words app, which can identify your location to breakdown services and emergency services if you don’t know where you are. pic.twitter.com/aWYoy03deE
