A party is being held for when a Derbyshire man is set to complete a world record attempt – all in aid of charity.
James Saxby is attempting to break the world record for the longest continuous triathlon over the weekend of July 13 and 14 – all in support of AYUP (Alfreton Youngsters Umbrella Provision) which is a volunteer run initiative which that offers a multitude of weekly activities for youngsters in the town.
To end his energetic weekend, an Alfreton’s World Record Attempt Party is being held at Alfreton Town Supporters Social Club from 12pm on Sunday, July 14.
A spokesman for AYUP said: “James Saxby is attempting to break the world record for the longest continuous triathlon over the weekend of July 13 and 14. All in support of AYUP and the young people of our town.
“He’s going to be swimming, biking and running non-stop all weekend and we want to make sure we show him our support.
“To celebrate the finish, we’re having a fun day party on Sunday, July 14.
“There will be: live music, stalls, games, and raffles.”
The spokesman continued: “Come and show your support and help us raise as much money as possible to ensure our clubs keep running and stay free for the young people of the town.
“Join us at Alfreton Town Supporters Social Club from 12pm until….. whenever James finishes.
“Make sure you bring your loudest voice to cheer him over the line.
“Please spread the word and let’s make it a great day.”
