Amber Valley Borough Council has issued some key dates and information for communities wishing to celebrate the King’s Coronation in May.
The Coronation of King Charles lll will take place on Saturday, May 6, and we have been given an additional Bank Holiday on Monday, May 8, to mark the occasion.
Celebrations are expected to take place across the country throughout the three-day weekend, including street parties and other community events.
Anyone who wishes to host a street party in Amber Valley has until Monday, March 25 to apply for a temporary road closure.
Amber Valley Borough Council has said it cannot process applications made after this date as staff will be preparing for local government elections on May 4.
Like North East Derbyshire District Council, Amber Valley will not charge for processing applications for street parties held to celebrate the King’s Coronation.
Applications for temporary road closures can be made online here.
Anyone who is selling tickets for an event, publicising a programme of bands or similar is required to apply for a Temporary Event Notice at least 10 working days before the event takes place.
Temporary Event Notices cost £21.
You can find more information about Temporary Event Notices and the application process here.
