Lane closures will be in force on the A61 in Alfreton and the A38 in South Normanton to allow for annual maintenance work to be carried out next month.
Derbyshire County Council has announced that both dual carriageways will undergo a “yearly maintenance and tidy”.
Lane closures will be in place on the A61 on Monday, July 17, between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
The work on the A38 will take place over two days. Lanes will be closed between 4am and 11am on Saturday, July 29, and again between 4am and 11am on Sunday, July 30.
Councillor Charlotte Cupit, Derbyshire County Council’s cabinet member for highways assets and transport, said: “Once a year we give all our dual carriageways a ‘spring’ clean. We used to do this in the spring, but now we don’t start until July so that we are kinder to nature.
“By letting the grass grow a bit longer and giving some species longer to flower or seed we’re helping give our local environment and wildlife a boost.”
