Many communities across the country will be gathering to remember the fallen this coming Sunday (November 12).
In Alfreton, the Remembrance commemorations will begin with a parade from Alfreton House in High Street at 10.45am which will proceed to the Cenotaph in King Street for an outdoor service at 11am.
This will be followed by a church service and refreshments at St Martin’s Church in Church Street.
A number of roads will be closed in the town centre while the Remembrance Parade takes place.
These road closures, which will be in place between 10am and 1pm, are set to be as follows:
Rodgers Lane – from the car park to its junction with the High Street.
High Street – from the junction with Cressy Road to its junction with King Street/Chesterfield Road.
King Street – from its junction with High Street/Chesterfield Road to its junction with Hall Street.
Church Street – from its junction with Chesterfield Road/King Street for a distance of 188 meters or thereabouts.
Chesterfield Road – from its junction with High Street/Church Street for a distance of 260 meters or thereabouts.
