There has been lots of planting activity being carried out at an allotment plot which is being looked after by a community group in Derbyshire.
The Sing Along With Ellie group have recently taken over one of the plots at the South Normanton allotments.
Ellie Fessey runs regular Singing for the Brain sessions at The Junction 28 Church in South Normanton, Pinxton Village Hall, and at The Bridge Baptist Church in Sutton In Ashfield.
She also offers her sessions in allotments in South Normanton, thanks to the community banding together to make this additional project come to fruition.
Ellie said, in a recent update about the gardening project: “O What A Beautiful Morning – another very productive day at the Community Garden at South Normanton Allotment.
“Everything is coming along very nicely, lots of prep for the coming Plant Sale on May 11.
“Chris was chief in charge of the hanging baskets and Ced, aka Digger, got some beetroot and tatties in.”

Ellie continued: “Many thanks to Dawn Stafferton for the donation of the beaten up barrow, now printed and ready to be commissioned as the herb planter along with the lavender now placed on the decking, and thanks to Neville Hardy for the seedling trays.
“And of course Karen, the cakes were amazing as always, many thanks. Happy sunny days ahead.”
