Man arrested following ‘knife’ incident in Alfreton

A man has been arrested by Derbyshire Police in Alfreton at the weekend, following reports of a fight in the area.
The arrest of the 40-year-old man was made on Firs Avenue, Alfreton
A spokesman for Alfreton Police SNT said today (Monday, December 18): “A 40-year-old male has been arrested on Firs Avenue, Alfreton after an alleged incident with a knife yesterday (17/12/23) evening.
“Officers from the Alfreton Police SNT, Heanor and Langley Mill Police SNT and Codnor, Ripley and Waingroves Police SNT, along with the support of our colleagues from Amber Valley Response, attended a report of a fight on Mansfield Road.
“A male was located on Firs Avenue and was arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article, being drunk and disorderly, and an affray.
“The male has since been bailed from police custody pending further enquiries.”
The spokesman continued: “Officers want to hear from anyone who has any information or witnessed the incident to contact us using any of these methods and quoting the reference 23*773897.”
