People across Amber Valley are being invited to meet the borough mayor as part of the area’s anniversary celebrations in April.
The invitation, which also includes a tour of the council’s chambers, has been made by Amber Valley Borough Council which will be celebrating its 50th anniversary on April 6.
A spokesman for the council said: “As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations on Saturday, April 6, we are thrilled to invite people to take a tour of our Council Chamber and meet our esteemed Mayor, councillor Tony Holmes.
“This is an unprecedented chance to gain insight into the inner workings of our building and witness first-hand the decision-making process that shapes our community.
“During the tour, you will have the unique opportunity to see the Council Chamber in action, as it’s set up just as it would be during official council meetings, allowing the chance to immerse yourself in the atmosphere where crucial discussions take place and decisions are made.”
The spokesman continued: “Additionally, our mayor graciously offers exclusive access to his parlour, where you’ll gain insight into the responsibilities and duties that come with leading our community. Hear directly from the mayor about his role, initiatives, and vision for the future.
“Please note that places for these exclusive tours are limited, so don’t miss your chance to secure your spot.”
