Police in the Alfreton area have been seizing even more vehicles which have been found to have been drive without any insurance.Yesterday (Thursday, April 11), we reported that Alfreton Police SNT had seized a black mini in the South Normanton and Somercotes area on Wednesday (April 10) because: “The driver was driving on a provisional license and had no insurance.”
Derbyshire Police has since reported that they have seized a further two vehicles in the Alfreton area.
A force spokesman said yesterday: “On the evening of April 10 the team stopped (a) moped on Storth Lane. The vehicle was seized due to the driver having no insurance and driving otherwise in accordance with their license.”
They later said in the day: “Officers from Somercotes SNT and South Normanton SNT have seized a vehicle in the Somercotes area under section 165 of the Road Traffic Act. The driver was driving with no insurance and no MOT.”
