A neighbourhood watch scheme in a Derbyshire village has gone on to the world wide web.
Tibshelf Parish Council has announced that their Neighbourhood Watch scheme now has its own Facebook page where any issues within the village can be discussed.
A spokesman for the council said: “We are launching the Tibshelf Neighbourhood Watch group on Facebook.
“This group will allow members and residents to discuss issues in the village relating to the Neighbourhood Watch.
“To join the conversation, please use the following link: www.facebook.com/groups/232257993212830.”
A description on the Facebook page further states: “This scheme is run by Tibshelf Parish Council, covering the whole civic parish.
“This Facebook group is a place for members and residents to interact, share ideas, concerns and keep a ‘watch’ on Tibshelf.
“We are delighted to welcome new members to our scheme, which has been set up to connect our community together, to feel safer, reduce opportunities for crime to happen, and be supportive and engaged with one another.
“Being a member of our scheme means that you will receive local information, be invited to be part of our activities, and help make Tibshelf a great place to live.”
The statement continues: “To join as a member, fill in the form at the bottom of this webpage: www.derbyshireneighbourhoodwatch.co.uk/join-a-watch/ or fill in the form on the front page of the Parish Council’s webpage at https://tibshelfparishcouncil.gov.uk.
“If you think a crime is being committed, please ring Derbyshire Police using 999 or Tibshelf Safer Neighbourhood Team using 101.”
