Under 18s can attend Alfreton Town FC home games for free thanks to a new partnership between the club and Alfreton Town Council.

The council says that under 18s will be able to watch Alfreton Town play at home for free until at least the end of 2023.

The offer will start this weekend when Alfreton Town FC host AFC Fylde at the Impact Arena.

There are also plans to set up a Youth Lounge for under 18s and there will be opportunities to meet the players.

The offer comes after Alfreton Town Council renewed its annual £3,000 sponsorship of the football club.

Councillor John Walker, Mayor of Alfreton, said: “We hope this unique partnership encourages young football fans to attend Alfreton Town matches and act as a distraction from getting involved in anti-social behaviour.

“We are delighted to have been able to work in partnership with the football club for what we hope will be a successful venture.”

Wayne Bradley, chairman of Alfreton Town FC, said: “Alfreton Town Football Club have been working with the Alfreton Town Council for all of my time at the football club – some 26 years.

“During that time, we have together worked each and every year to develop opportunities to benefit the community.

“At this time if is great to be able to offer under 18s the opportunity to attend league games at the Impact Arena free of charge.

“The club and council are committed to its focus in all dimensions within the community and it is hoped that this incentive will prove a success in providing attendance opportunities to the under 18s.

“Hopefully the under18s can find a home from home at the Impact Arena.”

The free tickets can be accessed at the turnstiles on the day.
