A community brass band is on the look out for new members for its training band.
Shirland Welfare Brass Band will be hosting an open day in June for potential new young members to attend to find out more about their organisation.
Shirland Welfare Band is a successful, vibrant brass band based in the village of Shirland in the heart of Derbyshire.
In addition to the main band they run a thriving training band to teach young players and beginners how to become accomplished brass players.
A spokesman for the band said: “We are currently trying to rebuild the beginners section of our training band, so no prior experience is necessary, just a desire to come along and have a go.
“Come along to our Training Band Open Day on Saturday, June 8, between 10am and 1pm at Shirland Miners Welfare.”
