The group behind a community pantry in Riddings has launched a toy appeal to help families in need this Christmas.
Oscari – based at the Church of Christ in Colledge Street – is asking for donations of toys and selection boxes as part of the appeal.
Writing on Facebook, Oscari said: “Many children will go without this Christmas and we understand how hard times like these are.
“We are reaching out to everyone to ask…can you spare a toy?
“We are looking for brand new toys and selection boxes so we can make hampers up for those most in need and those who will be going without this Christmas.”
Earlier this year, the group launched a community pantry which allows people to do their food shopping at a reduced cost.
For just £7,50, members of the pantry can buy food worth up to at least £50.
The pantry opens weekly on a Tuesday and members can visit each week.
If you are able to help with the Christmas toy appeal or would like to find out more about becoming a member of the pantry, please contact Oscari via its Facebook page.
