A community plant sale in Derbyshire has raised funds for a Dementia support singing group.
Ellie Fessey runs regular Singing for the Brain sessions at The Junction 28 Church in South Normanton, Pinxton Village Hall, and at The Bridge Baptist Church in Sutton In Ashfield.
Ellie also now offers her sessions in allotments in South Normanton, thanks to the community banding together to make this additional project come to fruition.
As part of the green-fingered project, a Plant & Craft Sale was recently staged at the allotment site.
Ellie said of the successful event: “What a day. The sun was shining and we had an amazing turnout at the Plant & Craft Sale.
“Huge thank you to our lovely friends at South Normanton Allotment, amazing teamwork.
“We had plants, handcrafted items, amazing cakes lovingly made from so many kind-hearted people including our fabulous ladies and supporters from South Normanton & District WI.”

Ellie continued: “Some of our fabulous ‘Sing Along with Ellie’ group members even had an impromptu rendition of one our top ten favourites: ‘The Black Hills Of Dakota.’
“It was just a wonderful day. I am feeling very blessed and humbled to be part of such a kind supportive community.
“Thank you to everyone that made the event happen.”
