Many communities across the country gathered to remember the fallen today (Sunday, November 12).
In Alfreton, the Remembrance commemorations began with a parade from Alfreton House in High Street at 10.45am which was watched by many who lined the streets to also pay their respects.
Those within the parade included: Army and Air Cadets, veterans, local dignitaries, school children, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Brownies, GirlGuides and motorcyclists.
The parade proceeded through the town centre to the Cenotaph in King Street for an outdoor service at 11am which also included the laying of wreaths.
The outdoor gathering was then followed by a church service at St Martin’s Church in Church Street.
