Derbyshire Constabulary is offering a ‘bike safe’ course for motorbikers from across the county.
The remaining dates for this year’s Bike Safe courses, which take place in Ripley, are: April 27 and 28, May 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, and 26.
A spokesman for the force said: “It’s the time of year that most motorbikers love crisp spring air with the added bonus of less rain and more daylight.
“But having taken time off over the winter months, have you considered whether you might be a little rusty?
“Our Motorbike Policing team have been out on some of our most beautiful Derbyshire roads the last few weeks, and what they’re seeing is worrying.
“Riders are a little rusty and drivers are getting used to seeing bikes on the road again, meaning unfortunately, we’re seeing a rise in collisions.”

The spokesman continued: “So if you’re planning on heading out on your bike this weekend, remember to hold off the throttle and ease back into it.
“For those who want a skills check-up and to expand their technical expertise, we have a few places remaining on this weekend’s BikeSafe courses.
“You can book your place on the BikeSafe website.”
