Police are urging residents to be vigilant regarding cold callers.
Derbyshire Constabulary has issued the warning about cold callers via its Derbyshire Alert email system.
A spokesman for the force said: “We have seen and increase in reports of ‘cold callers’ where people are claiming to be working on behalf of Derbyshire County Council and discussing replacement boilers.
“Please call us on 101 if these people are in your area or 999 in an emergency.”
