Preparations underway for return of Alfreton SEN Disco after summer break

Fri 2nd September 2022

Alfreton’s SEN Disco is set to return in two weeks following a break during the summer holidays.

The next disco will take place at Alfreton Park Community Special School on Friday, September 16.

The disco has been running since October 2021 and runs monthly.

Each disco offers two sessions. One for children aged four to 11 when the music is quieter, the lights are switched on and a variety of toy-based activities are available.

The second session – for children and young people aged 11 to 19 – takes place slightly later. During this session, the music is louder, the lights are dimmed and there are fewer toy-based activities.

There is also a tuck shop at both sessions.

The disco costs £5 for each child and all money raised by the disco is donated to the Deer Shed Project – a fundraising campaign to transform a former deer shed in Alfreton Park into a café that will offer work experience to young people with learning difficulties.

Parents and carers can attend the disco for free. No siblings are allowed.

The first session will take place on Friday, September 16, between 5pm and 6.30pm. The second will take place on the same night between 6.45pm and 8.15pm.

If you would like to book tickets for the disco, email info@sendisco.co.uk or call 07733060448.
