A new planning application seeks permission to install car charging points at an Alfreton service station.
The proposal, submitted by Motor Fuel Group Ltd, is to install six EV chargers at the BP garage on Old Swanwick Road, also known as Swanwick Service Station.
The application, submitted to Amber Valley Borough Council for consideration, also seeks permission to build a canopy and electric substation.
If approved, the canopy will be 18.2m wide and 3.2m high. It will have glazed panels and LED down lights.
The charging points will be positioned underneath the canopy and will be 2.236m high.
A planning statement attached to the application explains: “The EV charging proposals at Swanwick Service Station are considered to positively respond to the local and national planning policy context and the wider UK aspiration to promptly improve the EV charging network.
“There are no physical environmental or designation constraints which would inhibit the occupation of the site for the proposed use.”
