Plan your street party for the Queen’s Jubilee

The Queen will celebrate her 70th year as monarch in 2022.

Celebrations will take place from June 2, 2022–  June 5, 2022. Many residents of the borough may wish to hold street parties on those dates to celebrate the Jubilee.

Amber Valley Borough Council intends to make one or more temporary road closure orders pursuant to its powers under the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 on Monday May 23, 2022 or shortly afterward.

The Council will be consulting the Police, Derbyshire County Council (the Highway Authority) and other statutory undertakers. The council would appreciate as much notice as possible of any requests for street closures. To enable the consultations to take place applications should be made before Monday 25 April 2022

An application form can be completed online and can be found by following a link on the front page of the Council’s website at: www.ambervalley.gov.uk.

The Council will not be making a charge for processing applications for street closures in connection with Her Majesty the Queen’s 70th Jubilee celebrations. Licensing Act 2003 requirements You should not normally need to apply to the Council for a Temporary Events Notice if any performance at your street party/fete is incidental or background, including recorded music.
