Members of a Rotary club in Derbyshire are spreading the festive cheer this Yuletide season by ‘escorting’ Santa to special supermarket visits.
Alfreton Rotary Club are, once again, helping Father Christmas bring lots of festive cheer to shoppers at Tesco’s in the town.
They have been visiting the Hall Street supermarket with the big man himself to collect donations which will be handed out to a multitude of local charities and community organisations.
The club’s remaining Santa visits at Tesco this Winter will take place on: Tuesday, December 19, between midday and 4pm; Friday, December 22, between 10am and 4pm; and Saturday, December 23, between 10am and 4pm.
Meanwhile, the Rotary Club of Alfreton will also be presenting a Charity Carol Concert at St Andrew’s Church in Swanwick on Thursday, December 14.
Starting at 7.30pm, the musical interlude will include performances by the Shirland Welfare Band, Musical Dimension, and soloist Sandy Bailey.
Admission will be £8 either on the door. Alternatively tickets can also be purchased in advance by calling 01773 605783, emailing, or from IansPrint in Nottingham Road, Alfreton.
